Right, trying not to worry to much as I think I am doing enough of that already, but I looked at Hannah this morning and there is a huge change in her bag (again!)

On her right hand side she no longer has a defined udder (they are quite droopy naturally). It is absolutely rock hard, all around it is huge and in front of it very swollen). The left one is quite big, but not as full as the right one.

I will try to get some photos tonight...

But, for the time being, is this normal or should I be worried????

No, it's fine........be calm!!!

As long as the tight side isn't excessively hot, tender or secreting anything other than the first signs of wax or crystals, then everythings fine.
The two sides aren't nec. a mirror image of each other.

Fingers crossed for you, like everyone else I'm busting to see this baby!

I am away this weekend so am hoping and praying that she is not planning on an early birth has she has lost a lot of weight on her bottom and her udders are huge and very very hard! There is no heat and she doesn't mind me fiddling with them. She is tracking up her belly, but not majorly yet, but I can feel it when I run my hand under her.

I'm sure all will be well, but I'm not sure that I'd risk going away this close to her due date.
Are you leaving someone competent in charge?

Is it something you could postpone?

Thats what I thought TBH.

Have been reading all these posts with great interest and excitement. Not sure my nerves could stand it if I were in your shoes!!!!

I'm not going away away... just away from the yard and someone else is doing them because I have a really busy weekend full of christenings etc (but can keep popping back at night). I knew if I did the horses I wouldn't be able to get to all of the things we have on, so thought it would be better someone mucking out etc for me. But like I said, I can nip back but it'll be 9pm and times like that. Didn't want to not be able to get Hannah out in the field because I didn't have time and we don't have anyone on the yard who can do little things like that... total DIY! So I have organised a VERY capable person to come and do them, she has bred a few foals herself too.

Absolutely fine! Dont worry at all. Josie bagged up all wonky too! It's a fashioun statement Josie told me

Seriously though, it's fine as long as it's not hot and sore to touch xxxx

Thanks honey...

Someone I know came to see her on Tuesday and said she didn't look as though she had too long to go now (she's had foals herself). She looked at her bag and said it was filling very quickly and that her hindquarters had done jellified and her vulva was really quite long!

Yay not long! I'm getting so envious. Honestly I know it's a stressful time but when that fluffy monster is born it's sooo worth it. Loads of love and luck xxx

I am just worried because she has lost a lot of weight and her belly does not seem as big... but I suppose the foal is draining everything off her now and she is getting ready to foal.

I'll get some photos of her tonight... if she is not camera shy!!!

Yet again Josie did exactly the same thing about a week before baby D popped out. Her belly will change shape and she'll look almost not preganant atall when baby is in right spot. Which can make them a little, 'poor' looking, really dont worry, sounds like she's playing by the rules to me

Becki I am just sooooo excited for you and can't wait to see piccies of the littlun when it arrives. Just remember to breath slowly and count to ten!!! All will be fine she's done it before so knows what she has go to do. Just don't go too far from the yard over the next week or so, it would be such a shame to miss it all after all the hard work you have put in. Please continue to keep us all updated.
