I know, I think the most of her improvement is beacuse she was really dehydrated and unloved. She seems to have lost that look of giving up that she had. I think she would be even better if my gelding hadn't beaten her up!! Hopefully my other brood mare will be back soon and once Belle's lice have gone she can have a field buddy which I think will help her even more..
yes fingers crossed and we do have far too much grass as I normally have 6 grazing it and I am down to 3 now. We are having to alternate my gelding being out and her until I get some 7ft fence poles (hopefully he wont attempt to jump them!!) and then my other mare will come back but she is a chubber so they will have to be on my skinny field in the day and Belle can move into better pasture at night.
He digestive system has done so incredibly well, her droppings have stayed perfect and she hasn't scoured as at all.. Which I did expect. She hasn't been on that lush field all the time; we had to move her into there as she found it easier to reach the longer grass with her sore neck..
Fingers crossed she carries on progressing like this and she will have enough weight on her to get her through the winter!
