Its been almost a year since pony was diagnosed with PSD and Navicular. I was meant to go to a little local dressage test yesterday but transport let us down so I decided not to waste my day off and go for a little hack to the local XC course. He is finally hacking by himself again, I made a post a while ago as the lil ****** started napping! *touch wood* we seem to be over that now.

My main aim at XC was to get him through water as we have a lot of trouble with that and puddles on the road and then just pop over a few littlies and have fun. Before hacking down I changed my noseband to a grackle and had a little ride in the school which im glad I did as he was wild but I did get some okish work out of him:

When we arrived at the venue he was even more wild and I had a brake and steering malfunction. After a hair raising warm up and an almost fall at the first log we tried I needed to man up a bit!

I then headed to the water where we had some rears, bucks and spins and I decided to get off and lead him in to the water.

It worked!

We then seemed to get in the swing of things and had a great time :)

Very pleased with my little man who was written off by so many people. It goes to show that hard work, patience and dedication pays off.

thankyou :) i am biased but i do love his face, he is pretty and he knows it! he certainly loves his jumping and im so pleased he came right to be able to do it. although he is very capable and can work beautifully, he just hates flatwork (unless poles are involved) which is funny as i love dressage and showing and not really a jumper. i must admit though, i am getting the jumping bug again! its a little awkward though as he is 13.2hh and i am just over 5'9!

what lovely pictures! You both look wonderful - sounds like a good job you are tall and have long legs to keep your seat when he is having a bit of a lark. he definitely isnt going to hit any of those fences is he! Lovely chap. :)
