Are there any online dressage competitions that allow you to have an odd sized arena? I am sure I read about one once where there was a section which allowed slightly off-sized arenas?
Mine is 25mx45m so I could put boards down to make it a 20mx40m but just wondered.

You definitely need to use boards, it isn't fair to have more room than other people in the competition when it's easy enough to reduce it. Lengths of white plastic guttering do a great weatherproof cheap job.

At least yours is a regular shape! The longest side on mine is 63m, the one opposite that is 38m. Then the top end is 17m and the bottom is 40m (which surprised me as visually it doesn't look longer than the 38m side, but that's probably because it makes a narrow point with the 63m side so it's not usable)

Somewhere in there I think there must be a 20x40 arena but I'll need to plot a chart on paper and then hope it's easy to identify on the ground

I used dressage riders online and marked up the arena so it was as close as possible to 20x40. Ours is slightly shorter than 40m. If yours fits a full 20x40 then you could do any of them as a normal size arena.

Dressage online asks to make it as close as possible, but doesn’t require it. I’ve not used them, but noticed it when I was looking at entering online comps.
