Believe in the 11th Commandment: Inside leg to outside rein.

Know that all topical medications come in either indelible blue or neon yellow.

Think nothing of eating a sandwich after mucking out stables.

Know why a thermometer has a yard of yarn attached to one end of it.

Are banned from Laundromats.

Fail to associate whips, chains and leather with sexual deviancy.

Can magically lower their voices five octaves to bellow at a pawing horse.

Have a language all their own ('If he pops his shoulder, I have to close that hand and keep pushing with my voice & whip in case he sucks back'.)

Will end relationships over their hobby.

Cluck to their cars to help them up hills.

Insure their horses for more than their cars.

Will give you 20 names and reasons for that bump on your horse.

Know more about their horse's nutrition than their own.

Have neatsfoot oil stains on the carpet right next to the TV.

Have a vocabulary that can make a sailor blush.

Have less of a wardrobe than their horse.

Engage in a hobby that is more work than their day job.

So very true!
Another is ...................looked down upon when picking child up from school in wellies and mud coloured gear!
M's junior school were so snooty, different dress each day even from the morning drop off! I always felt I had a sticker on saying 'village idiot' or something! (People that know me needn't answer that!)

Brilliant...

Another one would be...
...get every medical professional out to their horse, but muddle on through any pain themselves with a couple of paracetamols!!!

Have a bedroom carpet covered in flax, no matter how often OH hoovers it
Have several grades of coat - from falling apart ancient item for mucking out to smarter one for shows and clinics, to newest one which still smells of horse but can be used for formal occasions...
Has a picture of their horse on their keyring, tucked in the diary and on the office desk, but none of the OH!

My OH reckons I have horse pooh on my hands when I get in the car to drive home on sunday after a day at the stables because on a Monday morning when he drives to the train station he swears the steering wheel is slippery.

Any excuse for poor driving is what I tell him!!
