My 4 month pregnant warmblood is intermittently standing in a very peculiar way. She is standing like a Welsh show horse,

with back legs outstretched, but not squatting as if urinating. Just like a show horse would. Weird. This is her 1st pregnancy, and she does not appear to be in discomfort. No temperature, and he urine is normal. Here is an example of a Morgan doing it.

Anyone seen pregnant mares do this?

I had one dressage horse that use to do it if she had had a particularly strenuous training session. We use to call it the 'rocking horse stance'. It could be that her back is a bit sore, although at only 4 months pregnant, she has a long way to go yet!!!!!!!!!

Well Tiff has been examined by the vet, and the vet can find nothing wrong. Thinks it could be very low grade back pain or thinks Tiff may just be feeling odd as baby could be pressing against kidneys etc.

On another note. Just found out today 'The Quiet man' who was PTS at this years Kentucky Rolex was Tiff's brother. They shared the same dam, he was born the year previously. Very sad.
