oooh new Dengie Hi Fi.....

Hi guys,

Response from Dengie.....

Hi Shelley,

Thank you for your e-mail and the H&H link! Of course we would be happy to send out samples - just e-mail a postal address and I will get a sample and the literature to you. The sugar level like Hi-Fi Original is approx 8-10% which is the same as typical hay. If you have a laminitis prone individual we would suggest in preference our 'Lite' products. Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you would like any further information or advice.

Kind Regards,

SHELLEY! stop changing jams feed if she likes apple get her a bag of tesco value apples and chop them up in her feed! its prob just hifi with a bit of apple flavor added to it and thats the only difference!

Ok, so I received the sample this morning...................

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy! It has more mollasses in it than the Original but smells lovely! It contains NIS pellets (nutritionally improved straw), apple pellets and apple flavour.

Will see what the horses on the yard think of it.

Apparently it retails at the same rrp as Original.

i wish dengie would bring out a alfalfa free chaff :(
i can't use them at all on my mare - the hi-fi sent her loopy - found out its the alfafla

So what is meant to be the advantage of it over normal HiFi?

No advantage really just something I noticed on their website and fancied being a bit nosey.

I guess the only advantage that perhaps people may find is that it may tempt fussy feeders.

I'm not sure why they have added NIS pellets personally and the actual appearance resembles something similar to Mollichaff. However, it smells fab (from a human point of view) :)

I agree, that Dengie should perhaps expand their range and include some unmollassed versions and perhaps review their pricing. Having fed Dengie for years, it is now becoming more expensive and the consistency has changed considerably! I think the only advantage Dengie have over the market at the moment is that they are more readily available.
