After lots of thought, advice from our wonderful vet, plus support from friends, family and a very good experienced breeder (who has given me much support and advice this past week, including introducing me to a good trainer), we now have a new member of the family. We will have ongoing support from both breeder and trainer.

I know some might think it's too soon... but this is what's right for US. It's what's giving us comfort and a reason to go fowards. My lad meant the world to me, and the hole in our lives since he's gone has been huge and unfillable.
OH was involved in the whole thing... talking to the breeder, talking to the trainer on the phone (he starts puppy classes after xmas) and bought himself a good book from waterstones.. which he's promised to read.
I know some of you, including those I've been in touch with via PM advised me not to, and I have taken ALL advice into consideration, hence making sure OH has the correct advice and guideance should his 'talking to' and book not quite reach the mark...

I want to say a HUGE thankyou to the HHO members who have helped me through this, given me lots of support and advice. It's meant so so much to me.

Most of all to the one HHO member who has shown such kindness, who knew about this a few days ago and who sent a lovely early xmas pressie (or two) for her.... a luxurious bed and a little pink kong toy

You know who you are... I shan't name you because I know you'll blush, but thankyou so so much

so... introducing Rosie, another JRT, handpicked for us by her breeder for her character.... excuse the pinkness....

she was meant to be being picked up tomorrow, but i had everything here, and this being the quietest day of the week we all thought it would be better for her.

Bless her, what a cutie.

At the end of the day, only you know what is best for you! I wish you many happy years together, all of you

Well, I was one of the people telling you to take your time, but as you say, it's your decision and if it is helping you all move on and your OH is being whipped in to shape, then who am I to judge?

All the best with her, she looks like a sweetie, look forward to hearing about her progress.

Did you hear about Jack's brother? Is he still in kennels or did he find a home?

I called about him twice, and they said I couldnt have him as he has separation anxiety and bites kids

. I offered to go up several times, see how he was with my kids (my kids are truly excellent with dogs) but they said no... so i asked if they had any other small young dogs in, and they said no and besides they wouldnt rehome with children under the age of ten. Shame, I'm home all day we have a lovely large 6ft fenced garden and a ton of love to give, plus the support of this trainer...
I imagine he nipped his old owners kid (the centre admitted he'd been teased by them) and they'd thrown in the towel with him

. Jack used to nip... but that's just puppy stuff... it's simple really, you just get them out of it. Why do people have pups and allow their kids to tease them??

If there's anyone who's looking for a young 10 month old JRT I can vouch for the litter's (and parents) temperaments... he's in the east midlands.

Under the circumstances I'd say that could be for the best - you have already had a rough time with little Jack and I would be worried that another dog with problems would be a struggle right now as I am sure that you are still raw from it all.

I'm sure he'll find a lovely home too, and that Rosie will have a ball with you.

Charlie when I lost Holly very suddenly I, my hubby and Matty our other dog were devastated. We rang the breeder to let her know what had happened as she loved all her puppies. She said she had a 6 month old rotty bitch looking for a home and would we be interested. We went to see her the next day and came home with her. We were without Holly for one night!! It does not mean we loved Holly dog any less, I still miss her dreadfully now, but Sage brought a big difference into our lives. She helped enormously as she is so crazy. She just brought some sunshine into, an otherwise, cloudy time in our lives.
I hope Rosie helps you and your family as Sage helped ours. She looks very settled already!!

Shes a sweetie. Everybody deals in there own way does mean u dont love Jack any less. Hope u have lots of fun with Rosie

Oh K, she's absolutely gorgeous.

I am so pleased for you that you have a new friend to fill the void. Having lost Jasper, I fully appreciate the vast hole they leave.

We will both have a new waggy friend to cuddle this Christmas....it might not be the waggy friend we thought we'd share the Christmas Dinner with, but our lives will still be complete.

I wish you many, many wonderful fun filled years with Rosie. She's a sweetie.

By the way....you can never have too much pink!

What a kind HHO member too. There are some nice people in the world.

Puppy!!! She's gorgeous!

When it comes to grief everyone deals differently and if getting another puppy works for you, that is brilliant! You have just given another dog a home and there's nothing wrong with that! Personally I tend to react the same way.
