I fell off Jerry tonight for the first time!

Actually I am quite pleased as I knew the law of averages would mean I would fall off at some time and I wasn't keen as he is over 17hands.
We went over to my friend's field where she has some xc jumps and as Jerry was going so brilliantly (have only jumped him twice before) I was getting more confident then forgot to 'ride' him into the biggest fence we had tackled, he put in an extra stride then stopped rather than jump as I had just sat there like a passenger expecting him to jump.
I can't blame Jerry - he didn't know what to do! I just sort of slid out the side door then landed on my bum! Good place to land - plenty of padding!
Anyway - trying to focus on the positive, he jumped brilliantly and we did go back and jump that fence again with no problems at all!

Poor Jerry having a naff rider on board - he is such a star!
 
I fell off mine the other night too, not bad considering it was the first time in the 4 years ive owned him.Trouble is we were out on a hack and the sod galloped back to the yard and i had to walk!

I think it was the embarrassment more than anything! I had quite an audience, my friend, her husband, her daughter (who was on a 12hh super pony whizzing round all the fences!) and my YO and another friend! I was the only other person riding, they had come to watch how I was getting on!
At least I provided a bit of entertainment!
 
As long as you wasnt hurt thats the main thing i wasnt mind you we was only walking, still dont know how i managed to fall off though.

Ooh Joshesmum, hope you are ok? I'm fine, I landed on my bum! I don't even feel bruised. Just a bit embarrassed.
