Ooops, nearly hit the deck!

I thought I was going to have my first fall from Nelly today when she slipped as we were cantering round a corner. As her nose grazed the floor I shot forward and my neck cracked. Yuck! She managed to avert total disaster and threw me back on board though.

Thinking I had escaped injury in the arena I was then a bit reckless trying to get my old Freelander into gear. It is really hard to engage first gear so I gave it a goo old shove and my hand slipped off the gear knob and I bent my thumb back on the dashboard. Ouch again! It is still throbbing as I bravely type on ...........

I'd rather have a day like that than acctually hit the deck! I once saw a little riding school 12.2/13hh giving a little girl her first jumping lesson, anyway she did the classic falling on to ponys neck on landing anyway, pony promptly slowed down and threw his head up pushing tiny back into saddle then he carried on round the arena eventually coming back to the jump where the girl was much more stylish! Great crisis averted and little girl not afraid of jumping
