Last nigh when we went it was in the paddock next door, but now it is in with ours.
It was trying to get over the fence, Hubby pushed it back in but it is in with ours. Is anyone in the Litchfield area missing a small piebald mare? The owner of the field has been trying to call his neighbours who own paddock, but there is no answer. I hope we can get in tough with the owner of the paddock it came from, they were not around last niht either.

The owner of the field we rent has asked everyone he can think of, including the owner of the paddock it was in, the owner of the sheep next door and the owner of the house next door, no one knows where the pony came from.
We went and asked all the local horse owners, but no they know nothing either.
The people with the horses further along the lane suggested it might have strayed from some land where there are some tethered ponies, but they are a couple of miles away. The pony is wearing a cheap nylon head collar, so could have been tethered and got loose.

Well at least she's a mare.

If you still haven't traced an owner by Monday you would probably be best off starting the abandonment proceedure. Until then I'm afraid she is your legal responsibility for feed, care and vet costs etc. You could try asking your vet to scan her for a microchip - but I suspect she won't have one. Poor little thing.

We now have the correct number of ponies/horses:D
The couple who live next door to the field apparently saw it on face book and phoned the field owner. The owner took it through their gate, as they have no keys for our padlock. It does belong to travellers. The couple were out when we went.
