Obviously I am not up to jumping yet so I let someone else jump Micah last night.
First let me say I did jump him for a little while before my operation and he is extremely keen and confident but very green. Emphasis with me so far has been on CALM and rhythm.
He only saw the jumps and got excited, could not possible canter on the correct leg on the left rein and just bounced and bucked. After a while of just trotting and walking he settled a lot more in the canter so we let him pop a small xpole, first few times he would try to rush and buck but again kept him calm and he jumped some lovely fences including fillers etc. Even jumped one or two of the super open fences
However he is still too forward and you can only jump one or two fences at a time otherwise he would get away from you. So more work on calm and rhythm needed!!
With him being so bouncy it means it will have to wait a little while before I am ready to jump him. But after having a horse that you had to kick all the way around the course and still you didn't know if he would go over a 2ft 6 fence it is amazing for me to have one that is so confident and doesn't even look so I am so looking forward to it
