I just couldn't help myself!
Basically I have a 18 month old Whippet dog and an old lurcher bitch.
I was planning on getting another when my old girl had gone. But she is getting so old, so fast, and the whippet just wants to play all the time. I really want the time to give her special attention. She doesn't want to walk far anymore, whereas the whippet wants lots of exercise! I can't take her alone for a wander because the whippet goes mental, I can't let her relax on the sofa all day because I can't trust the whippet to be left anywhere except the kitchen.
I just feel that if I had another young dog then the 2 of them could team up, and the old girl will get a break.
Does it sound like a good idea? I certainly have the room for another, and like I say, we were planning on getting one anyway.
The dog in question is a 6 month old blue bridle whippet dog, with papers. The owner also has his full sister. He is selling because he thinks he has too many dogs (he has another lurcher)
Only forseeable problem is that pup is not house trained yet as they live outside at present.
The advert was very brief, and the owner not very talkative on phone, but they sounded like a nice older couple.
We're going to take ours over there with us tomorrow so that they can meet if we like him.
Any advice? Questions I should ask? I've never brought a dog from a private home before, just breeders and rescue centres.
Quite excited now tbh!
