Took my step daughter out on a lead rein hack her first time on my horse , waited for double decker bus to pass, as bus passed I let her nibble the treat, as she nibbled treat she accident slurped up my thumb too. I honestly thought for a second I was going to loose it I could feel the pressure getting harder like crunching a carrot. I had to put my other hand in and prize her mouth open and she suddenly realised it was not only the treat but my thumb in her mouth too! She looked at me as if to say sorry mum and continued to walk on up the road. Pointless post but i never realised how much my thumb means to me.

Ooo, ouch. My oh shock his finger at my mare yesterday telling her not to put her leg through the fence (he's not really horsey), and she responded by looking at the finger indignantly and then biting it - she's never bitten before so I hope it hasn't put ideas in her head, but it was funny, like she held the finger personally responsible for ruining her fun :D

Typical as I'm always the one telling my children 'make sure your hands flat we don't want the horses thinking your finger is a carrot'. Due to do our first sponsored ride next weekend so luckily it's in working order nothings going to stop me as I've arranged child care and pet sitting for everyone if not I'd be riding one handed I've been looking forward to it for ages. Poor OH Dabdab that put him right back in his place. I can't imagine how much it would hurt if they really meant it!

I've had a couple of lucky escapes doing carrot stretches with mine and thought I was going to lose a finger. I'm more careful now!!
