Pip's brain has just not been in the schooling for the last couple of weeks and he's been inventing all sorts of evasions, so I thought I would do something fun today, to try and perk him up. He really loves walk to canter, so we did a bit of that, it was too easy so we tried a bit of halt to canter. He was great, fab transitions, but it seems that before I give the aids for canter, I take a deep breath. He picked up on this, and every time I took a deep breath, would canter, even from halt. I have created a monster.

;)

On the plus side, baby pony is WONDERFUL. I've actually been able to school him consistently for a few weeks now, and his balance has improved so much - he's so light in the hand now. It's almost too easy, you sit there, pick up the reins and he goes into a beautiful outline. He's just so willing and quick to learn, he had turn on the forehand down pat today despite never having done it before, and we did a lot of long and low which he likes. Is it his age? He picks things up instantly. He's just lovely, such a pleasure to ride :biggrin3: Opposite of poor Piper (who I love to absolute pieces, but oh my god he's tricksy!) ;) So yes, good ponies, even if one is more intelligent than I am! :redface3:

And a gratuitous video of Pippy:

(sorry about the weird clicking!!! I can't do it properly :p You might want to watch it on mute)

Weird random thread, sorry :p
