Opened Haylage, Question

I was given a bale of haylage today by someone at the yard as she isn't going to use it. When I moved it, it is split on one corner. Looks like it has been split a while as the haylage sticking out is all dried. If I open it right up and get rid of that bit, will it be ok to use it?

Yes, it should be.

There may be some mouldy bits if the air has got in but again, just don't use that bit.
