To say I was nervous was an understatement!! We went cubbing in September and got on fab. Having spent all day yesterday getting them ready, I got home in the evening and couldn't stomach eating dinner... got up this morning and just about managed a piece of toast, turned up to the yard a nervous wreck!! Bad times. The nervousness was nearly as a bad as what I had when I flew to the US alone, first time flying and I was on my own, so it was pretty bad! I hardly slept at all last night which didn't help.
We managed the bank that caused us so many problems last time, we jumped it 3 times today and each time got a little better. After we got it out the way the first time, we got into the next field to find another bloody bank, and then another, and another. Tango cob was soooo honest, he was faultless... I rode like a sack of spuds and need to remember to sit back when jumping as I tend to sit back too late. He was an absolute saint and I love him to pieces!! So so honest.
We were really surprised that there were no ways round any of the jumps... in fact they had been out and built even more jumps and there were no ways round any of them. So we jumped them, albeit it was far from being graceful, but I didn't fall off so that's something!! Some of the jumps went up to 2ft9... sounds tiny and most people wouldn't even think about jumping it, but I had never jumped that big before so they looked massive! Very ungraceful but we managed it.
Am absolutely shattered now, after having hardly any sleep last night... so am going to sleep like a baby tonight! A huge thankyou to my hunting partners they were absolutely fantastic and put up with me being a quivering wreck!! I would never have even got in the lorry if it wasn't for their encouragement this morning! I think they will probably read this and I really am so grateful to both of you.
I can't wait to go again, going to get the jumping sorted beforehand but I really am on such a high, I can't wait to get back out there!
There's a few pics in photo gallery too
