Hi Guys,

Has anyone had dealings with either of these chassis?
The MAN is an e reg 7.5 and the dodge a g 5.6.

I have heard its hard to get parts for the dodge, what about MANs, how good are they?

Both low mileage.

Any info would be great help!

Both were obsolete years ago so parts wouldnt be easy, if you are on a budget the best bet is a leyland daf 45 there are still quite a few about and plenty at the truck breakers for used parts...

I had an old Dodge, I never had trouble finding parts, ebay is good, or tractor parts, I think it's the same engine as an old Massey Ferguson.
Also there is a Dodge forum and a Dodge page on Facebook, both are full of useful information.

I have a Dodge 56 - had it 20 years. They are very basic, but that means there's not much to go wrong with them. The Perkins tractor engine in them means they sound a bit rough; they are basically a good workhorse, but no finesse.

To maintain them you need a good old fashioned mechanic - don't bother with any of the big places that handle fleets....they just laugh at them.

The guy who runs it knows everything you'll ever need to know about them and is good at helping source parts.

If you're in the West Midlands I can point you to a couple of good mechanics who have maintained mine for the last 20 years.
