Am I the only one who hates posts such as;

'No horse should need to be stabled'

'Horses were born to live without rugs'

'No horse should be wearing a fly rug in this heat'

'All horses should have a balancer'

'All horses can eat grass - it's natural' ?

Blah, blah, blah.

They are always backed up the phrase 'My horse is always fine and he.....' (is out 24/7, lives out without rugs, doesn't get bitten by flies, or whatever).

Don't these people realise that;
1. Weather conditions vary in the UK.
2. Individual horses have different needs.
3. Individual owners have different preferences?

Thank you, and good afternoon.

No, posts saying 'Just shoot it' could never be regarded as opinionated.

Yes. I may say what I do with mine, but as you say: My horses, my circumstances, my choices. Just because it works for me and mine doesn't mean it does for others.

I hate the posts that ask -

'What rug is your horse wearing today?'

Why does it matter?! Your horse is different to my horse, and the weather is probably different as well - you should know your own horses needs by now and dress it to suit!!

I like these posts, actually. I usually find them quite informative. Because people often go on to discuss the merits of different rugs. And as a horse owner, I'm obsessed about rugs

ha ha I agree with you there. So sick of hearing you pamper your horse to much or he dosent need that many rugs mine only has one ect ect does my head in!
If i want to pamper my horse I will I pay his bills and its my god damn money!!!

You are entitled your opinion!!

I find them a total waste of time and would hate to think that someone is rugging their horse that is in beaming sunshine in say cornwall, because someone else said their horse was wearing one, in the pouring rain in scotland!

lol, afternoon shils,

but......
I am of the opinion that all horses CAN eat grass, whether they should be or not might be a different matter. unless I've missed something in which case I welcome enlighenment

Am I involved in your 'rant' (for wamnt of a better word)? I am opinionated but then, who isnt. Opinions are what make the world go round and without them, there would be no .......................................posts

I think everyone is entitiled to an opinion if asked for it or if they think its relivent but at the same time ppl should not take other peoples opinions to heart beacuse at the end of they day thats all it is an opinion you can choose to use it or not.
But in saying that sometimes I still get wound up lol but its a good thing to know

Thank you!

But you have also just established that this sort of post is also good for weather forecasting.......

I agree Shils, though I don't actually mind when people START a topic like that, as i can choose to look at it or not, but when people post replies to existing threads which do tend to thrust their opinions on others, i think that can be a bit overwhelming. Having said that, don't really mind as long as it is politely put and not rude.
They are good fun though
