I have just seen a post about cheating and people entering classes they know they can win etc and got me thinking.

I have a 14 year old KWPN branded horse, I have no history on him as only has a PetID passport. I dont know when he was imported or much background on what he has done in the past etc, though he works nicely in an outline and has a great trot and canter.
When I got him he was very underweight and severly lacking any topline or muscle. Over the past 6 months we have gradually built him up with work and is now comming along nicely.
We are wanting to compete unaf dressage at the moment but was wondering what classes he should really be entering. He still gets quite unbalanced and struggles with very tight turns so have been doing prelims and Novice tests. We were last yesterday's classes we entered (previous post).
So because of his breeding (again which i dont know much about) should I be entering at a higher level, even though he may not be able to do some of the movements yet? Or if we enter prelims and novices are we seen as cheating if we were to win?

It is not cheating with your horse. Start at prelim and novice and see how you get on. It would only be cheating to have a horse with a known record at higher levels which is not the case with yours. Just because a horse is a warmblood it doesn't mean it is born at Grand Prix level......I have a novice warmblood!
