Hi - New Years Resolution was to do additional bits for charity. Was thinking of organising an equine boot fair in Kent and was looking for peoples comments and opinions.....

Would you go to one or have a pitch? (I think they are great but maybe others have different ideas?)

What do you think is a fair price for a pitch? Was thinking of doing a book in advance price cheaper than on the day?
Am going to try to have an indoor option if weather bad

What day would be preferred Sat or Sun or maybe even an evening option? Would check didn't conflict with any big local shows or events such as Badminton!

I intend to split the proceeds between Kent Air Ambulance and one of the charities helping the Amersham Rescue Horses.

Was going to possibly organise refreshments and maybe even a raffle to raise additional funds for the charities but any other ideas or tipes greatly appreciated. I have a few venues in mind but need to talk to the parties concerned first.

So what do you think - good idea or something else?

I'd definately come if you ran one near me.

I've been to one before in an indoor school as a buyer - many years ago. Have to say it wasn't all that successful. Think the charge per pitch was £5 which then was too expensive but is about average for non horsey bootfairs nowadays (plus round here the buyers are charged 50p-£1 to get in)

I just found that anyone selling anything wanted extortionate prices for everything and we went away empty handed.

I would hire I pitch if I had anything to sell.....but I don't!!

Suppose Saturday would be best as lots of people compete on a Sunday??

I’m in Kent and I would be there. I’m sure between me and GinaGem we would have enough for a pitch.
Sorry don’t know anything about prices to charge though.

Hey sounds like a good idea, I'm a kentish lass and think we should do more

Me again.......

Anyone from Kent, please please support this idea. Kent air ambulance really need support, it is funded by public support and has no funding from the government.

Last July, I met with the misfortune of an RTA, my friend and I were driving back from Bell equine and we were hit from behind at great speed. The Land Rover rolled and rolled until it looked like a childs tent?

My friend sustained life threatening injuries and was air lifted to the Royal London. She was in hospital for three months. I am still unable to ride due to my injuries.

If the air ambulance had not taken my friend to London, her chance of survival would have been reduced dramatically and with the government wanting to close A&E departments in the South East, we really need this service, I do not wish to scare monger but it is a true fact as I am an A&E sister!!!

So Kentish guys lets unite and support this event.
