I was just wondering if anyone insures with Stoneways Insurance Company? They seem quite reasonable but just wondered what people's thoughts on them are?

I use them. Just got my renewal letter thro today actually.
My current boy is insured with them & I had my previous mare insured with them when she broke her leg & was PTS. They were very helpful & sympathetic at what was a very traumatic time & they settled the claim very quickly.

They are a well established insurance company and, like others (bar 1!) are reputable.

They are fab, I had my old lad insured with them and he had lots of claims for various different things. Eventually he was PTS with a new condidtion and they settled the claim straight away and were very compassionate at all times.
The only reason I am not insured with them now is because the premium for my new horse was double that of Petplan. The only reason I can think of is because I had so much money out of them previously!!
My friend also used them and lost her mare to grass sickness after only 6 weeks of buying her, again they were fab but, she too couldn't afford to insure her new horse with them either, perhaps they think we are too high a risk
If you have a reasonable quote, I would def use them.

BB - Equine and Livestock Insurance Company. Insure a lot of horses. Premiums are low. They advertise a lot. There have alledgedly been issues with how long they take: I have a claim with them and so far it's been eight weeks since they said they were paying out on my horse, the vets bills go back to last October. Customer service is probably reflected in the premiums.
