Last I checked, Donegal was in the Republic.

I don’t understand the recent issue with critiquing publicly posted horse adverts. People use to do it all the time. Should I buy this horse? And not get any flack.
I think as mentioned either on this thread or the other, there are a few issues.
Including... on the Internet no one knows you're a dog. So the person asking for a critique can't necessarily tell who is talking sense and who is talking... something else.

There's also the rampant speculation about what horrendous things might be wrong with a horse that could well be totally sound.. in the public domain, what seller deserves that? I think this element has ramped up lately.

If I wanted views from others on a horse I'd select some that i knew to be knowledgeable and pm or FB them direct. If my horse's ad was being ripped to bits on here I'd feel miffed that a load of randoms with no interest in buying were wading in where I had no ability to correct errors etc.
I am sure that getting a straw poll seems useful but given the above I'm not sure that a (mostly) anon forum is the right place.

If you want sound advice on a horse's conformation and potential, have a look at a reputable trainer in your area and pay for their advice.

Before I even read the replies to this thread I knew there would be a least one comment about the fact the horse was wearing a - gasp! - grackle and does that mean it's a lunatic or broken...

Offered to bring my own saddle and my half pad (has shims to adjust fit) as she’s close to my mare but wouldn’t even tell me her saddle size ??‍♀️ So told her I’m not buying a riding horse without riding it and haven’t talked since ?

Good choice and also alway see the horse ridden before you get on and if you get a bad feeling about something don't do it.

At 3 I’d consider her a project rather than a riding horse, and wouldn’t necessarily want to sit on it.
