Opinions on colt please

Looks like those photos are from the summer - could be he has been for sale for a while - might drop the price.

I like him though.

As others .... more recent photos of him standing up straight before I would venture over.

By the look of the photos it was mid summer so a good 6 months ago - babies change an awful lot in that time...

From the photos provided, he looks quite nice.

I like his colour, also like the fact that the markings on him are very similar on both sides and that he's got some colour on his face too to break his face up a bit, he looks to have a nice head on him too.

What do you plan to do with him?

There is no part bred paint registry and chaps can be funny about part pedigree American breeds.

I don't think he is grullo, bay dun maybe? What is the dam's breeding?

If you want a paint there are better choices on the same site. If you just like the look of him then go and see.

He is chaps registered and yep he is grullo, if you look at his sire they look the same at that age.

I do have recent pics with his winder woolies but they are in an email and I havent a clue how to get them on here?

What I meant was Chaps can be funny about grading part pedigree American breeds as I found out with my paint mare ( past owner died and papers mixed up/ lost so we don't know which went with which & too old to use DNA.)
Not a problem for a gelding.

He doesn't look like the grullo foals I am used to.

Ah I see thanks, he will be gelded also.

Do you have a pic of Grullo foals you are used to seeing? The Stud went to see him and confirmed he is grullo also, but I guess time will tell, although I googled Grullo Foals and pics of them as adults are there seems to be different shades some are a little darker than others.

He looks like he may be a really nice sort from those photo's. But he will have changed a lot since they were taken.

Ring the advertiser and ask for some more up to date photos - include ones of him stood up properly.

Unless of course they are just round the corner, then don't worry too much. But I wouldn't drive any distance to see him without them.

He looks nice but i also think he is quite a lot of money for what he is. Does his dam have verified breeding? I guess it comes down to what you like about him and what you would like to do with him.

He will be an all rounder really, a bit of in hand showing first, more to get him used to shows, if he isn’t placed then never mind. Then hacking mainly, maybe a bit of cross country, and I would like to do endurance but we will see, He is to be a share for myself and my son who will be 15 when he is ready to work with. He just wanted something smaller than my ex racer to ride and do things with, he has plenty of ponies to ride at the moment since he is very light he can get away with ponies for a while longer but will need something a better size for later on.

What do you think is a fair price for him, he hasn’t done loads as the breeder was 8 months pregnant when he was born so just halter broken , has his feet done, loves to be brushed and will lead around and come in when asked, although does take a little while to get head collar on him when he is in the field but he doesn’t run off

He's gorgeous, but I think the price is a bit hefty in the current market :o Saying that I am tight with the purse strings!

Lovely markings too, agree with the others who think he'd do well showing :)

He looks a nice sort. Nothing spectacular but he has a lovely head + nice markings and I'm sure you'd have great fun with him. Would agree that he's overpriced but I'm looking at him as a normal youngster rather than as a coloured which maybe makes a difference? :)

If you really like him then I don't see (personally) why price needs to come into it.

I paid 'too much' for my lad and he was an unhandled 2 nearly 3 year old without papers, scraggy and not up to weight, people thought I was loosing my marbles and having my pants pulled down (if excuse the phrase) and perhaps I was and people 'talked' but I liked him, really liked him as I trusted my own judgement.

Now I've had people offering to buy him off me.

If you like him, go to view him, a horses value is what you make it.

Was he up for £2500 before? £1000 is much more realistic and if he is what you are looking for i would go and get him :) .

Just a thought, have you checked his boy bits have dropped?
