What do you think? He's been in work for 6 weeks now.

This was him off grass

Do you think he is looking a bit empty now? Have started him on small amount of outshine along with his normal feed, he gets all the hay he will eat (which isn't a huge amount at the moment) :)

I think his weight is ok, but would maybe want a bit more on him going into winter. He also looks like he has lost some topline.

I love his white marking down his left shoulder!

He looks fine to me but I like mine thinner than I think is the norm nowadays could be carrying more muscle to my eye hes a similar 'slimness ' to my OH hunter who is hard fit but that horse is carrying more muscle than yours.
What is he eating apart from hay?

"weight" wise, fine, wouldn't want more on him. He's just lacking muscle on his topline, which would make him look great. Definitely wouldn't chuck lots of food at him, just correct work and sufficient feed to support muscle development.

Thanks all :) he couldn't have lost any top line as he was on his hols for just over 2 months in a field.

I'd agree with the not glowing, will try upping his oil and outshine (is only getting a handful in each feed). He gets a Normal cool mix as his main feed. He is never a 'fat' horse in that even in that pic off grass where he wasn't worked/touched and still fed and still wasn't fat!

Muscle is building up slowly, but it is coming just trying to build the correct ones :)
