I am possibly looking for a trailer but having always had lorries I don't know where to start.
I would ideally like somewhere to get changed and store my tack etc but it is'nt the end of the world if not.

Are the Equi Treks good trailers? Are they strong and steady and do they tow well? It will be to tow a 17hh MW and possibly a second horse using a Mitsubshi LWB Shogun.

Does anybody have any better suggestions?

PM me if you prefer.

I got an Equitrek last year after selling our wagon. We went for it for the same reasons as you have mentioned. After having a wagon with living etc we thought it would be a big drop to a trailer with no tack storeage etc.

We bought the Show Trekka L which will carry 2 17.3hh. It tows like a dream and the horses travel really well in it. Last year the majority of the time I only ever travelled my 17.2hh MW or my mare and foal in it but have since travelled my 16.2hh and 14.3hh in it and it tows no different. I have a discovery and it handles it fine.

I would definitely recommend buying an Equitrek

Equi treks are lovely. My friend has got one and loves it. Ive been out competing with her in it and I love it to!!
Its very sturdy and horses love travelling in it.
But I think they are fairly heavey and I know she had a job fining a car that would tow it. In the end she got an SWB defender, so I reckon your will be fine. Happy shopping

I was in your boat a couple of months ago. I found a second hand Day Trecka- it fits 2 x 17,2 + and tows the same as my Ifor 510! I have a SWB Toyota Landcruiser so has a 3.5 t tow weight- should be fine with something similar with a double axel trailer. Think you'd need a bigger car for the tri axel ones tho!

I love mine- has 2 tack lockers so no smelly horsey stuff in living. Bench, storage, hob and sink and coat hooks in living. Everything you need for a long day out!!

I have a 4* Equi-Trek and have now owned it for 2 years. I absolutely love it... It is a tri-axle trailer, and when I am towing it I cannot feel it at all. I tow it with a BMW X5 and have no problems at all towing my two horses together, a 17hh WBxTB and a MW 16.2hh IDxTB. Both horses travel really well in it. The WB is known for turning around and figgeting in trailers, but she stands completely still in this one, even when on a show ground (which I was told she would not do).

Please feel free to PM me any questions you have.

Adding my two cents in! I love it! Ive got a bog standard space trekka, everything travels in it, tows sooo nicely, tack room to sleep in lol. I have a Trooper, easily pulls it when its loaded up to. I have the M model but dependant on horse head carraige and length Ive travelled bigger horses in it. Had to go to essex to get it, but theres a company guildford way who sell them too.
Am excited about putting hammocks inmine!!
