Hello,

My boy can be a nappy one sometimes, it only seems to happen when the warm-up and ring are in the same arena.

We are fine going in and moving away from the other horses it happens when we head back towards the warm-up then turn to try and jump and he will just run through the shoulder. I am going to try start wearing spurs to get him off my leg quicker to bend the other way to the napping direction but was wondering if the leather blinkers help to keep his focus forwards rather than looking to the other horses in his peripheral.

Has any got any experience or tips? He has so much potential and is a great jumper its just this napping lets us down and we get eliminated sometimes :(

But I guess it can only get better with training and time!

Blinkers are not allowed in any equestrian sport other than racing and driving. It will only "get better" if you train the horse properly. What does your instructor suggest?

You can use french blinkers that don't exceed 3 cm in width. I am not thinking about driving or racing blinkers. These blinkers i am talking about are BS and FEI legal
