Still deciding on transport!

I really like the look of the new 3.5 t lorries. Like the vauxhall movano e.t.c

I only have one neddy, so 1 x 16hh lightweight horse to travel.

Ive had 7.5 tonners before and liked them, but I have had enough of VOSA prodding my lorries and ending up with a huge bill! I like the idea of the 3.5 t as they look easier to maintain.

What are the good and bad things about these lorries?

What is the average price for one these days? Have seen some for 8k. Is that a fair price?

Thanks

I have a Citroen Relay, done 98k miles, 05 reg.Came from a fleet, so really well looked after, regularly serviced etc.
I have nothing bad to say about mine, had it built and paid less than 10k last year.
If you can be bothered, trawl through my posts from last year as I put alot of info on then. There is alot of rubbish out there, buy the best you can afford, and do consider having one built, it may not be as expensive as you think
Heres the link to my builder,my box is gallery 1, but he is finished in yellow and purple, not unsprayed as appears here

I have a movano and carry one 16hh TB in it. I love it, but make sure you get one well checked out. I have had loads of problems with the engine/clutch/gearbox in mine. Should be ok now because I think it is all nearly almost new, but it has cost me a fortune! I've never had a bigger lorry, so have nothing to compare it to. Mine is a 2004 one which was converted in September last year and I paid £9100 for it.

My OH is a mechanic and what I've learnt from horsebox discussions is get an Iveco, he would recommend them all day long.
(avoid anything French or Italian and VW's will chugg along but always get you there!)
