Opinions on this boy please :)

i don't think they have picked the most flattering pics of him jumping but he is very pretty. if he has a decent record at BN/ Disco i'd say price wise he's about right. you need to get his regd name then you can buy his record. also i;d check if he's been measured in at 14.2 if thats important to you (for height classes etc) :)

oh also, someone posted earlier asking what your dream horse is - well, this is pretty much it for me! Apart from being a gelding not mare but oh well!

TBH i don't know much about them myself  i don't know how old you are but sometimes they can be awkward about adults on ponies for certain jumping classes, as he's 8 he should have his life height certificate this year i think... if he hasn't got his certificate yet then you could probs get him measured either way ;)

Ah ok, thanks. I'm 27. Do you know if it depends on the class, as in higher the level they have to be over a certain height with adults? I have no confidence jumping anymore :( But used to love it and have jumped up to 1.10 and desperately want to get back into it. Just need a fabby confidence giving pone to get me there!

the ad in q is 8 yrs old and reg with connie society and bsja as a 14.2 so obviously has a life height of 148! at 27 you have to jump horses! but a 148 can be re registered as a horse! have you tried this pony or still speculating?

Pictures can be deceiving but he looks very 'full up' to me. He's jumping at Aintree so must be local to North West.

For that kind of money he'd have to measure in - at 8 he should have (as has been said) his life height certificate. This is essential proof that he is elgible for all the classes that price tag would justify. It could be me, but he needs to have some record of success jumping afflilated and possibly in the show-ring. He looks a bit lean (a bonus actually!) to have had that sort of career. Is he a good doer, I wonder or have they just worked their socks off - and his, too - to keep him in such nice condition. Connies are notorious fatties and slim doesn't usually tie in with laid back. Not saying it isn't an honest advert, just my observations.

Ponies are brilliant for non-competitive adults, top ponies would be great for competitive small adults but those which can hold their own against horses are very few and far between.

Nice chap, though.

I went to edit but the blooming thing wouldn't let me. Was going to add the jump looks a bit green, but again could be the rider and the photo's could be stretched, giving him a lean appearance.

No harm in going for a look. He might be a little horse.

ok so they have to be 14.2 and over in order to be ridden by an adult in BSJA classes against horses....is that right? Anyway I'm not looking to go out and be REALLY competetive straight away, I just wanted something that would give me confidence jumping so that I at least have the option to go out and jump competetively at some point again.

I agree that the jumping pics are a bit rubbish. Don't show him in his best light. I haven't been to see him yet, I only saw the ad late last night. Have asked them if they can send me a video as I'm a good 4 hrs away from them and I'll know straight away from a vid whether he's going to suit me or not. Also more info on his comp record.

For 7k, what should he have done, achieved?

No you can jump any height pony in senior classes against horses, but you have to register them as a horse.

I used to jump a 14hh cob in senior BSJA (as it was then!) classes

Ah ok, thanks. I was getting a little confused :)

I would only be looking to start out small anyway and build on it - if and when confidence returns! I shall wait and see whether they send me a vid of him before going to see. It's such a lot of money! But then good ponies are worth it I guess

you can get his record yourself. find out his show name and then ring the bsja and they can fax it to you. costs about £10
