Opinions on this horse please.

very very good looking horse, nice build, from the description sounds nice, doesnt really say much as to whether he jumps, xc, etc. Would be nice if they had some ridden pics on there.

ps....ditto the above.....price is high, i would want a horse that really did do everything for that money. Even if he does have a fitted english leather saddle!

Based on the information on the advert I would be looking to pay at least half the amount. Nice looking horse though. Would have expected jumping picture on there as they've mentioned that he's good.

I like him, though would like to see some more piccies, although it does say more will be following! Reckon he' make a good WH type! Think he may be a bit overpriced, but I think you tend to pay more for something a little different colourwise! Lovely head on him though :)

I thought he was worth more like £2500 myself, and I would not be interested in the saddle either, I have three already and if none fit, I would buy one that is to my own taste. He has not done any hunting or competing in his current home, but did unaff in a previous home. How would you tackfully make an offer more than a grand under the asking price?

BTW, haven't looked yet, only spoken to seller on the phone.

go see him, if you like him then say you wouldnt be interested in the saddle so would they acccept an offer of xyz. suppose it depends how desperatly they want to sell!

Personally, as someone who doesn't do any sort of affiliated competing, it doesn't matter to me at all if a horse has no 'competition record' - lots of people don't ever do anything that amounts to a 'record'. If he really is as they say - great jump, good gallop, traffic safe, unflappable etc, and also happens to be lovely on the ground and in the stable, hacks out alone and in company easily, is good with dogs / kids / bikes etc, then he is something that people are always looking for. He's a useful size too - which opens up his market to the mum/kid sharers. If he is all the above then I don't think he is overpriced particularly. He sounds like he could be a good pc pony - and there are loads selling at that price at the moment. I'd ask to see more pics of him actually doing something, and poss speak to his previous owners if they did take him out and about. It would be great if he was a nice hunter too - and that would add to his value. I like him, and think he'd be worth a visit to get the full story / vibe of him. There's nothing wrong with an offer, but I think £1K below is pushing it!

I wouldn't call him stocky. I'd call him overweight with a small head and not much bone. I don't understand why he is passported with the British Percheron Society. The British Appaloosa Society will passport horses of any breeding if the owner is a member of the society. Horses with Appaloosa breeding without spots can be registered with BApS, I know 'cos we have one! The photo isn't very good but I can't see any Appaloosa characteristics (striped hooves etc). Of course unless you particularly want an Appaloosa, none of this matters except that I always wonder if one part of the story sounds odd, what else doesn't add up?

I find it really odd when people don't bother to put any ridden pics on. It really puts me off and I can never be bothered to phone if they haven't bothered to put any flat/jumping pics on! Think they are dreaming if they think he's worth 3750 too!

I personally think he is an attractive horse that is very long in body and out of condition! And with no details of competing etc, is overpriced. And I agree, why no ridden photos? Keep looking!

You can't put a price on safety and if he is as safe as they say he'll be worth his weight in gold!

Very nice horse, lovely coloring and build, I would like to see more photos though.

I would agree with Pearl, he over-weight as opposed to stocky, also, he is not blue roan!

I disagree with Angelbones re the height, I think 14.3 is an difficult heigth to sell as most folks want a 14.2 (so they can do pony classes) or 15 hands plus.

I'd say the photo doesn't do him any favours really but he looks a nice horse... he's fat and unfit rather than stocky but I wouldn't let that put you off... I'd probably offer a grand under the asking price and go from there... ideally get the saddle too as a good, well fitting saddle is worth it's weight in gold.

thats a ridiculous price! I wouldnt even consider it for a minute-it doesnt sound as though he's done anything much, the height is a real downside too as he's out of pony classes so having to compete against horses much bigger than himself (though not so sure on showing classes-thats 15hh?) I wouldnt worry about offering a lot less for him-they may quickly realise how over priced he is when they get no interest. I would put him at £1800 max

From the decription he sounds like a nice little horse if a bit overpriced like most people are saying. He obviously caught your eye for a reason so put in an offer if its what you are after. I prefer to see more than one photo in sales ads too.

He looks fat and unfit and I don't believe that you get a true feeling for what a horse is going to be like after they've been ridden 4 times a week for a couple of months when they are in that condition to start with.

I also don't understand why people don't include ridden photo's if they are selling a riding horse. If you go to see this horse, make sure that they have someone to ride it for you and they're not expecting you to jump on it yourself first.

As with others, I don't get where the stocky bit comes from - it doesn't seem to have much bone - perhaps they are talking about it's belly?!!

My mare is 14.3 and she is my second horse of that height. As I have never jumped her and only show her either in hand or ridden M&M classes, the height hasn't ever come into it, so I suppose it's what you want to do with the horse that counts.

If he's everything they say, then in his current condition and with the saddle I would price him no higher than £1800.
