Opinions on this horse >>

My only advice would be to make sure you have him vetted. I think if you are going to spend that sort of money and you want to eventually event then you need to make sure he is completely sound. You know the old saying why keep a bad one when you can keep a good one for the same price. Good luck.

Now i may be wrong... but that tack looks a bit like its hiding a flat back... which in my experience makes for a very uncomfy, awkward ride!

I agree that he looks as if he has a flat back. It doesn't look as if he really steps out in trot, and I'd want him to be tucking up a bit more over the jump. TBH 5K isn't a lot for an eventer, or even a potential eventer.

You may not get as far as Novice with him, but then who knows....? You'll not get something that has already got there for that price, so it may be worth a punt..?

Wouldn't fancy taking something jumping like that over solid fences personally. Don't forget that will be the best picture they have.

Dont like his trot paces from the photo. He is not covering the ground and definitely not tracking up which could indicate a problem. If you look at the other photos of similar horses on the website you can see a stark difference. I had a look as it could have just been the rider! I think at that price he is too expensive.

He looks average to be honest, his conformation just totally underwhelms me and his jump doesn't look that nice. On the main horses for sale page I think there are several that are much nicer than him - the one above him and the "Riding Club" mare 2 below him for example. Just look higher quality to me with a nicer jump.

If he is imported do you get loaded with points as you do in dressage and show jumping ,if he is 6 I think he looks very under muscled and probably goes hollow. Not my type at all.

He's not making any shape over the jump and doesnt look to be using himself on the flat, and for the price I'd want to see both, especially as you will have to spend more money to down-grade him if you want to compete at BSJA or BD.

Have you tried him?

No I havent tried him yet. I'm going up on saturday. I'm not sure if the pics do him justice because he arrived in the country last sunday and those pics were taken either that day or the day after. Might be better now he's settled. I'll definitely try him on saturday and everything.

Yeah me too. Kate said theres a couple others I can try too. One or two are not on the sales page as well. Hopefully i'll find one i'll really like.

Kate normally has good horses; try him out but if you don't like him there'll be one of a similar type in the next couple of months so don't buy him unless you really fall in love.

See him for real, though - the horses that look good on the website aren't always the horses that look good in the stable.

Good luck!
