opinions on this horsey

If you're seeing the same picture that I am, I'm sorry to say no I wouldn't go and see him.

That pictures makes him look like an aged, saggy old broodmare. I don't think I've seen such a sway back before.

PMSL you would be better taking the £3k and spending it on the national lottery!
Too me that advert has dodgy written all over it.

He doesn't look like a TB cross Hanoverian, I have to admit my first thought was "seriously dodgy back" - I deliberately didn't read anyone else's post before looking but I have to agree with them. Legs look weak too, particularly the front. He might have something going for him personality wise but you'd be taking a big risk. They should knock at least £2K off the asking price!

There are definitely better horses on there for 3 grand.

He's got a terribly dipped back and its hard to tell but looks as if he might have spavins. He looks more cob/ID than what thye claim he is and I would be surprised if he wasnt much older than 12. If you did get him I would be looking to pay perhaps 2/3 less than he is advertised for.

I agree with the old mare comment at first look I thought thats what he was, the only back Ive seen like that is the 28yr old TB at our farm.

Dont take these ads at face value, always ask for a second opinion and take someone like your RI with you to view.

Classic i remember was a so called 15 year old TB ex eventer

Poor thing when i got there his teeth and look said it all, if he was a day under 26 i would eat my hat, the pic they had taken was obviously a one off with him trotting front on head up looking smart, asking for more pics is another good one.

Indeed I was taken aback when I saw this pic, his back!

Hocks look a bit puffy too. Funny, if you block out his back, he looks quite TBish but, I can't see hanoverian in there.

Sallypops, you have to disbelieve virtually everything these adverts say: such as age, experience, and BEWARE the "not novice ride" statement, can mean a real nutter... often does. They are almost throwing away their rsponsibility with that.

Best either get a reference, (i.e. pony club comittee member) when buying or try to get via friend of friend, someone who knows someone, etc etc

Sorry if I'm telling you things you already know, just call me an old nag....

lol at bessy! I know the feeling.

The horse in the pic is not something that you should buy if you are looking for a nice allrounder. Sorry. You would be much better off buying Christmas-Derby's "Owen" (or whatever she is calling herself at the moment).

Looking at that horse (No offence to his owners) but I cant for the life of me help but think why the hell can I not sell my horse he is advertised on Ad Horse and Horsemart..... 15.3hh good looking TB Bay Gelding 6 yrs old brill at dressage can jump although I dont is good to handle just passed a vetting but the people couldnt come up with the final amount of money so I have had to readvertise yet nothing and I am only asking £2800 for him.
