This is my friends little mare , they have someone coming to look at her tommorow but they want her gone soon. Apparently she can be a bit of a madam sometimes , throws in the odd buck, and my friend isn't excatly very strong, she is quite small and skinny so they don't really match! Her sister is the main rider of her family really though and dmy friend only started a few months ago.

Opinions?

Just a bit interested really, a bit small for me though!

I think if I were selling and someone I knew had posted negative info like this on the internet, I would be mightily hacked off!!

Every horse I have known can throw in the odd buck !
She looks lovely, along the same lines as my friends highland. I hope she finds a good home.

I did not try and make it sound negative at all, I'm just saying what my friend has told me about the mare and why there are selling! If she did find out then I would be very sorry to her, she is one of my best friends ever, but I had no idea that would come out as negative info. Very sorry if I've offended anyone , but I seriously didn't think that would come out as negative like that. sorry.

Yes....but 'can be a bit of a madam sometimes' is not exactly what you would call positive is it? I guess I just think that by saying can be a bit of a madam and throws in the odd buck and linking to the ad, well, if you were the potential buyer would you not now go to the viewing in a more wary or negative frame of mind?!

Yes I suppose you are right, I did word that post quite badly and if I had a chance to edit I would as I now see the things you have pointed out. However I just thought to be honest and not lie hence i put what i put, which might have came out a bit wrong. thankyou anyway as i know what not to put now if i'm asking for opinions!

I'm sure no harm done, but just remember that this isn't like chatting to your mates - anyone can read it, and just because people don't post does not mean they are not reading stuff. I wouldn't worry too much, their ad is pretty honest.

I don't know how long shes been up for sale, but same here, if i was allowed a pony and she was 4inches taller I'd have her straight away

I do hope they find a good home for her, although its not very horsey round here!

I don't think you have said anything wrong its basically what they have put in the advert. I'd rather they be honest saves a lot of timewasters who might not be able to handle her. But a good little confident teenager she would be just the job.

Can't stand making endless journeys to see horses people just lie about. Why do they do it. Your friend has done the right thing saying she can be bossy with inexperienced riders at least a total novice won't come at look at her hopefully. Although some people do seem to think they can ride better than they can. Good luck to your friend. I don't think what you said was that negative.

why? there is no mention she bucks in the add. It pisses me off that people dont tell the truth in adverts... My lad was sold to me as suitable for a novice, though he can buck and rear. I think people would only be peed off as they would of been caught out not telling the truth.
In the long run its best for the horse....

as for the pony- she looks a cracker and with the right person could be a little star

ditto Flintus.
If people were more honest on their ads then the right people would find the right horse and visa versa.
I am sure that I would want to be warned that a horse i was viewing could be a madam and can buck if I was taking my son or daughter to try it. The advert doesnt read anything like the desciption you give on your post.
Sorry to sound blunt but like Flintus we have also been on the receiving end of misdescribed horses.

i bought him back off the people I sold him too, who were fully aware of his temprement but some unsuspecting 13/14 year old girl wouldnt of been. To say she can be a madam doesnt narrow it down, its the same as saying Flint is a bugger! People shouldnt be having to find out the hardway- information like that should be given immediatley.

I totally agree with you. We bought one that was "suitable to teach hubby to ride" and a "perfect schoolmaster" It had a buck in it like a rodeo horse. Threw me off on loads of occasions and the last time he stamped on me and I was laid up for quite a few weeks. (Did have his back, saddle, teeth etc checked) When I finally sold him he was advertised exactly as what he was. The guy that bought him knew exactly what to expect and we took a massive loss on him for that reason.
I wrote in his passport that the horse was a bucker so that hopefully the new owner couldnt sell him on badly described.
I read your posts about getting your Flint back and I'm glad you are getting on well

Well they have said can be a little "bossy" in the ad - so I would presume that they would be a little more specific when prospective buyer phoned. She hasn't claimed pony to be suitable for beginner or anything like that. Even the quietest can give the odd buck!

ps hollyf I adore the cute dog in your sig!!

She looks great! If the money was about I know my sister would be interested. Sounds like a lovely all rounder with a cheeky l'il personality

Hope she gets the right home

I don't think there is anything to put people off in your post. She isn't for a novice so if I was phoning up about her I'd want to know as much as possible before traveling!!!
