Opinions on this little mare

I think shes lovely, reasonably priced due to her lack of experience and the current market and would make a nice little horse when her education is developed. I would consider though buying a youngster who is needing brought on at this time of year as I dont know what your winters are like but its almost guaranteed we wont be able to ride for 2 months at one point in the winter due to weather.

I had to look twice, i thought it was my mare!!! Not joking, they are SO similar!!

Also, my girls TB X Knabstrupper and she is a fantastic allrounder, takes everything in her stride, hunts, hacks, fun rides, XC, show jumps (1.10/1.20 easily) and she's only 15.1 at a squeeze i'd say :)

GO FOR IT, if you don't .. i might ;)

CIAB - I still love Horlicks, but nothing wrong with a spot of window shopping... and thats when I spotted this lovely little mare. Just though, good price, sweet looking, right age, no "known" issues (unlike Horlicks :( ) good height.
I just need to try to convince the OH to let me go for it. I could see if the yard would accept a grass livery through the winter to keep costs down, whilst I pay my last bit of debt off :D

Oooo Spotty - nice little horse!

Thank you:) at 3 she was VERY like OP horse to be ( ;) ) and she's really filled out and grown now however at 5 she's still bum high .. so the mare in the ad could well grow some more as i believe knabstruppers are late developers..

She does look a total darling to do, if she's sound for £600.00 then she'll no doubt make a lovely RC type on the negative side (just my personal view btw) she's got a short neck, I like a bit more in front of me but that's just me or maybe that is something that is normal for that breed?

Do go and see her, what a sweetie and nice little calm pop she's got over those jumps.

Nice to see all of her instead of just that lump. I was right from my post she is a lovely lady such a deep red. Bet she does well in coloured class.

Lucky you :)

I am astonished about the knabstrupper reference. Knabstruppers are NOT allowed to have sparse manes and tails - this is the domain of the appaloosa. As is the white sclera around the eye. SpottyTB I would put money (unless you have papers) that your horse has absolutely no knabstrupper and plenty of appaloosa in the breeding! And looks a very nice type as well :)

At that price worth a look, and if you like her why not...... a better bet than horlicks with her issues.

I also would check the breeding, if she does the job you want then it doesn't really matter but don't pay for breeding unless it is documented.

Leviathan- thank you:) I actually don't compete in any showing classes as I never thought she was showy enough! However perhaps I'll give it a go:)

Fmm- dont no about the mare in the ad but Gem's sure is reg knabstrupper and I believe they have all the papers to prove it:) however funny enough she does have a hand ful of Appaloosas back in her line.. About 4/5 generations back.. :)

Sorry op sort of hijacked your post!

I agree about Horlicks. Its horrid but I do wonder if its a "safe" bet - I know no horse is a safe bet!

Breeding isnt really that much of a biggy for me, as long as they will school nicely and pop a small fence, thats all I am worried about :D
Breeding is an added bonus!

Lippyx - damn is an Irish TB - Kilbeg Jenny and sire - drops

She has a few famous racers in her line, nearco being one?

Also she has king of diamonds in her line too :)

:-)

She looks terribly cow hocked, in every photo. I'd maybe go see her in the flesh if she were very near but it'd be a no no for me personally
