Opinions on this NH trainer

Shes seriously a trainer? and people actually copy what she does?

Wouldn't let her near a horse.... i only got as far as her kicking the horse but couldn't see it was going to improve and didn't want to watch anymore.

I saw this on facebook - so wrong!

I dont like rope halters...used correctly they are brilliant, but so often used incorrectly.

That isn't horsemanship, that is just an incompetent moron presumably jumping on the 'natural horsemanship' bandwagon for the ££$$ when in fact they shouldn't be left in charge of a wheelbarrow let alone a horse.

Losing her temper and resorting to kicking the horse.. classy.. NOT.

What the hell does she think she is doing :confused:

Natural horsemanship is about give and take, asking the horse to do things through communication that they understand. I use a rope halter and it is great at giving precise aids when used properly and sympathetically, no way in hell would I dream of yanking it down so hard on the sensitive nose of the horse and then she punishes the horse for it unsurprisingly not wanting her near its face?

Stuff like this really is beyond me, what happened to setting the horse up for success and asking them appropriately with clear aids?

My thoughts exactly.

I too saw this on facebook and someone commented that the horse had no respect for boundaries and space, although he did not deserve the kicking. I replied that the horse was actually doing nothing wrong until she put him in panic mode and upset him so much that he did not know where to put himself!

If someone kicked my horse in the stomach I'd knock them out.

What is she teaching? How to make a horse head shy in 2 minutes?!
Idiot trainer and idiot owner standing by why she treated his horse like that.

Not nh in my experience although there are many that claim to be and try to teach it.
She is just a bully not sure who she is but she should be ashamed of herself but I have seen equally stupid behaviour on Horse and country form an aussie and Pat Parelli whacking with a stick on the head and flailing with a bit of rope. I even saw Parelli kick out at a horse the other day before turning off.
Natural Horsemanship to me is firm but fair with a quick release of pressure and the minimum of pressure in the first place at no point did she give the release in that whole sorry exhibition of brutality

There's a reason the old school horse people didn't give much away about their methods, it's because a lot of people will never have any real understanding of horses no matter what they are taught. Those bl@@dy halters are so very severe in the wrong hands.
These idiots have made a mockery of everything the whole Natural Horsemanship movement should have been about.

Her whole attitude was hard and aggressive, even walking from one poor victim to another, I am affraid that NH is encouraging idiots like her to make a quick buck from the misinformed and gullible. I am not against NH as I think it can have its place in horsemanship when correctly executed. That display of cruelty made me sick.

What is it with theses owners, they are just as much to blame, just standing there while she abuses the horse. It all went wrong the minute she took hold of the lead rope. So horses are not allowed to be within 3 ft of us any more then. And what is all the laughing about. I would have been out of that arena, horse loaded and on my way home.

It never fails to upset me that so many who claim to love horses never take the time to truly understand them and this shocking display proves that all too clearly.

I only made it to the end of that in the vain hope that the horse kicked that beatch's front teeth out at some point.
No such luck.
So the horse stepped into her space in a non bargy and inquisitive fashion. Big deal. Then she proceeds to confuse the hell out of it and then abuse it for being confused. I would have taken her head off if she'd done that to my horse!
I don't get these people. They flail those bloody ropes about in the horse's faces and then wonder why they are headshy. Utter morons.

I know what I think but would be interested to see what others do
She's an arse and doesn't have a clue. She'd be kicked off my yard in a heartbeat for treating any horse like that!

Disgusting. I am not a violent person in the least but if I ever saw that going on the police would be called right after I had taken the bullwhip from that person and inadvertantly thrashed them with it!

I'd try and run away from her too!

NH or trainer are not the words i would choose to describe her! I can not understand how anyone can stand by and watch someone do that to their horse, how anyone can think that any of that is an acceptable way to deal with a horse:mad:

Neither do I, I find it really confusing why do people fall under the spell of these people and then not see what's going on in front of them the bay had such a lovely enquiring interested expression at the beginning I feel really angry on its behalf.

I'm speechless! A perfectly calm inquisitive looking horse, standing nicely, and then she yanks like mad on the halter!? Don't get me started on the kicking - what an *******ing idiot! Haven't watched the 2nd link - don't know if I dare after that!

What an utter idiot! If this is a 'training' method then I don't know what the world is coming to. I hate people like this 'trainer' it is just abuse, it's not learning that poor horse anything apart from be nervous and head shy! How to ruin a good horse.

I dont think its NH thats the problem, its just idiot people who you come across in all aspects of 'horsemanship.' Think back to not long ago, a video on here with someone abusing a horse while idiot onlooker laughing, very similar really.

Holy ****. What an awful woman. She's a bloody idiot. What is she trying to do? Was it 'how to ruin a horse in under ten minutes?'

Why the hell would you stand there and watch it? If anyone abused one of my animals like that, I'd knock their bloody teeth out.

Poor horse. :( He's standing so nicely when the video starts. You can see him flinching when she's reaching towards him. I wanted him to kick her head in.

I have a lot of respect for some NH people, so I do agree with you, this idiotic bully is just that - a bully (who happens to be exploiting the NH bandwagon)
