There are a lot of Skylarks in circulation! The blades are ceramic/metal and there is a small amount of depth adjustment plus some graders. There is only one tooth profile of blade available, but they do seem to cope with varying coat coarseness. I have not come across many that cause a problem and for the money they are a good value "cheap" trimmer. My only tip, would be keep the blades clean, as you tend to get a build up of hair behind the blades after a while, but this is easy to remove.
