This afternoon i had an email from a guy in Germany, on Behalf of his Dressage Trainer. My profile is on Yard and Groom but is set to not looking, i just havent taken it off, incase i do decide to look again and all my info is on there.
His trainers are looking for a Rider to replace their current one, who is leasving after 5 years with them to go to the states. She currently competes and trains the horses from the babies to Gp.
As some of you know, i still have my mare, but at 21 she is not competed anymore, and the plan is to hopefully put her in foal, but there is not looking like there is anything to replace her as my competition horse in the near future.
I emailed this guy back, saying that i wasnt really looking but could he tell me a little more about the position.
He has now asked for my mobile number to pass on.
Needing some opinions on whether i should at least pass my number on and investigate further, or just say no im not interested but thank u anyway.
If i were to go, DOl would be fine and mum would take over her completely. However i went onto a yard in spain when i was 18 and hated it and left, and also decided before Xmas that i didnt want to take a job here.
What would you do?
All opinions please, just make sure you';re nice.

Sounds to me that you are'nt really wanting this enough. Riders in germany have to work hard, the hours are long and you need to know you really do want to do this. Is your riding up to the demands of the job? [especially since , from your posts your horse has been off.]
Living abroad can be isolating and how good is your spoken German?
When going abroad i would go through recomendations by people you actually know and who would have another english speaking person there. Maybe now is'nt the right time perhaps a more short term thing will come along.
I'd wait and see you dont want to go messing people around if you decided not to work in the industry in this country, then being in a foreign country on your own , having to work , live and make friends is'nt going to be that easy.
With the Spain job what was is that made you dislike it so much? The job? The people? Or simply having to leave home ?
I think those are the questions you need to ask yourself.
Hope you find your answer.

Partoow that sounds like very sound advice, I could not have put it better. From what I have seen on my albeit very brief visit to the continent looking for horses the staff work incredibly hard and very long hours, yes many of the yards have superb facilities but it is still tough. TBH if you are having to ask then perhaps it is not what you truely want. Hope you find it easier to make your decision and dont beat yourself up about it.

Thankyou for your response Partoow, TBH i am wanting this a great deal, but i worry that i have a responsibility here, (Dol) and would it be awful to follow the dream and leave her here with Mum.
Yes she is off, but i am still trained to the level and am stil riding GP horses.
I left SPain because i had a groom get into my bed! Not because i didnt want to be doing the work or riding. I just didnt feel safe!! And i chose not to work on the UK yard for false promises as it were.
I will email back and talk to them, and go from there, cant do any harm in finding out.
Thanks

K

ETS have emailed back, after having a nose at their current riders profile on YaG, just said not sure i have enough baby experience but given my number anyhow.
