Ideally I want something for me - to have fun on, learn more, bring on with an option to sell further on down the line. So really any type. My ideal horse I cant get with my budget so Im wanting to keep my hand in and be able to ride until I can afford her!!! LOL

dont like no1, no2, no4
like no3, no5, no6(but windsucks), no7, no8 even though no picture!
this is jus me personally, as yoo may b able to tell i like TB and ISH's! the 3 i dislike :
No1. Arghh hate seeing a horses ribs. sure she wood improve in time though
No2. Just not my kind of horse but looks well natured
No4. doesn't look in proportion to me and 1st pic imediatly put me off!
happy buying

Really they're mainly younguns - and mainly in need of bringing on - and nearly all tbs - unless you are a really confident and able rider with heaps of time I would not go there! The cob is then possibly your best option in all honesty.
What level are you at and what are you looking to do?

Thanks for all your replies. I have been riding most of my life and had a break of about 8 years or so. I am relativley experianced but I have help through my mum with regards to brining youngsters on as that is what she used to do.
The first one - i agree with the ribs - however I have called about that one and she bought her from the sales about 6 weeks ago so still needs fattening up etc.

I am wanting something to give me more experiance in youngsters and brining on etc - maybe a project to sell on once complete

like the 1st and 3rd but what type are you looking for cob or tb and what experience have you got for bringing on youngsters, not that if you have little experience it can't be done it is just that it can be hard work and with plenty of ups and downs.

No.1 - could potentially be a smart horse with some work but looks very upright in the shoulder, therefore wouldn't touch
No.2 - Not a very good picture but if he looks like the sort of thing you want go take a look.
No.3 - Not a fan of ex racers
No.4 - Worth a look. With that fluffy coat off and some workinto it it could be quite a smart animal.
No.5 - Would like to see a conformation shot but it looks tidy, I'd go and look at that one.
No.6 - As above neck looks a bit crap but that will improve with work.
No.7 - Sounds like a good project, I'd like to go and look at it and see how bad condition it's actualy in.
No.8 - Sounds good, I'd go and take a look

I think the cob sounds a better idea for just getting back into horses, youd be suprised how long 8 years is really and you wouldnt want to over horse yourself straight away and ruin your confidence level..i suppose it comes down to ability and what you want to do with it...to sell on, if the cob is chilled out would probably sell easier....why not cut it down to 4 then go see them in the flesh..

1st- hindlegs would put me off big time and tbh, she looks like an ex-racer and you should pick one up for 1k not 2k....
2nd- just put together wrong, I know its a bad photo but.....
3rd- Really appeals to me, hard to assess confo but he strikes me as more quality than the 1st
4th- Dont think its broken in
5th- Looks quite sweet
6th- Reminds me of Moon, therefore I like!
7th- Dont think I'd bother
8th- Cant see the photo but the Big Sink Hopes can make nice horses

Would be great - thanks. Am back at work today and dont want to be caught looking for a horse

Would also like to keep them in the Yorkshire area. Going to get mum to drive me to see them so dont want them too far away.

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have had an eight year break I think that it is definately worth getting something older who has been there and got the t shirt, youngsters are such hard work and time consuming buggers....especially ex racers (I have brought on 2 now and they are the worst as you have to change everything they have been taught since they were sat on at 1...people forget that they would have been ridden for at least 2 years, making them into what we would consider your average 6 year old...if that makes any sense)

Thanks for them. Have looked through them and there are 3 that are suitbale within my travelling range. Even though I have been away from regular riding for 8 years I still rode occasionally - mainly on treks etc. Since March 06 I have been riding twice a week at my local riding stables and I have now become bored with the regimented rota of canter in the corner to the back of the ride.
I now feel that I am ready to take on a project - not something that hasnt been touched but something that has the basics to bring on. As I mentioned earlier I have the full support of my mum who used to showjump and have her own dealers yard. She also used to retrain problem horses so I have plenty of experiance at hand.
However I do appreciate your advice and I understand it makes sense. Thank you very much for your help

Me too! That was the one that caught my eye...obviously depends what you want it for though OP. There is a reason why they are mostly TBs and would only get one if you are experienced with them....know some are lovely and quiet but some can be pretty tricky as well!

ETS sorry I mean the bay mare, 5th one down I think.

Darius is nice if a little bum high

http://www.horsedeals.co.uk/horsedetails.aspx?horseid=20333

I like this one

You can still school and bring on something that has an older head on his shouulders you know...riding school and pony trekking is a whole lot different to bringing on a youngster...

Thanks for all them - I quite liked a few of them.

Im 5ft 5 but weigh **13 stone** at the moment - however on a diet to change that LOL.

The reason I would prefer something that was 16plus is because Ive rode others smaller and felt too self concious. I feel better on a bigger animal.

Feufolet I love the last 2 out of the older horses you picked, lovely!

To be honest after an 8 year break a TB youngster sounds like a bit much, even if your mum can do it and she is on hand, you want it to be YOUR project dont you, so wouldnt you be better getting something that you can do most of the work with yourself.

You dont want to be overhorsed and put off.

I really like the last two aswell, would call about them both. I think the chestnut is very cute....

I also Darius....on the second lot.
