Opinions please :)

I'm not sure it's a case of right or wrong - just personal preference.

Although why anyone would not vaccinate for tetanus is beyond me.

Unless your all going to shows then yes, but if you are a happy hacker yard then no, the flu vac does not stop the horse getting flu, it just doesnt make it as bad, with or without the flu jab if your horses immune system is not so hot it is more likely to suffer a bad bout of flu,

If any of the horses are mixing with horses kept on other premises then they should be vaccinated. Horses staying on the yard/hacking alone/definately not mixing with other shouldnt need vaccinating.

Most of the major charities only vaccinate for tet every other year.

I personally do both - even for my companion who never goes anywhere. It's only £30 a year - in the grand scheme of horsey costs it's not the one that bothers me most!!

About 5/6 go to competions, these ones are all fully vaccinated, some of the others are moved off the yard in the summer (one owner has lots and swaps them between local farm, mountain and our livery yard).
Not sure if that makes any difference, to wether (sp) everyone should be vaccinated or not?, it's all so confusing!!.
Livery who believes it should be compulsory has concerns incase those competing, or being moved off yard and then back run the risk of flu being brought in.

Some yards insist on it, along with Public Liability Insurance.

I don't mind either way, I do mind people scrimping on costs though, purely because they choose to keep multiple horses on livery.

Why doesn't the person that's concern just get hers done so they are covered, if the person that doesn't want to incur the expense wants to run the risk of a huge vet bill to treat tetanus - that's up to them.
whether the horse is vaccinated or not won't stop them bringing flu back from a compeition (on a rug, in feet, on skin etc.) and giving it to others.

Tetanus is present in soil everywhere so any horse (or person) can catch that from the most minor graze
