Opinions wanted on Collegiate convertible saddles please - especially the jumping. Apparently they're like Bates as made by the same people but not as pricey and fit Wintec and Bates gullets. Only just found out about them today as looking for a new interchangeable gullet saddle and it came up. Thanks.

I have a collegiate GP, has been used on a TB and a high-ish withered cob. I am happy with it and neither horse showed any back problems when it was used on them.

They are quite common here in New Zealand, they seem to be decent saddles in the lower price range. Cannot comment on their fit though.

I loved mine - comfy, cheap, looked lovely still after a few years. Pony loved it too (he hatred his Wintec). I just wish I'd found it earlier as only a few months later my boy was retired.
Popular, too - when I bought a saddle for another horse the saddler asked if I would be willing to part ex my Collegiate as people were always after them, so that was good for me!
