Original dog being wierd about bed time toilets

Before bed I kick the dogs out for the toilet older dog usually has last minute pee. I've had new pup a month now and he always web's and poo's before bed (good boy) but older dog in the last few days (he is 4) is refusing to do his last minute business last night I took him for a little wander and he did it tonight he won't entertain it! What the hell is going on????

Older dogs get odd and confusing about things when newbies come along. I'm far far from the most experienced dog owner on here so I expect you will get some better replies!
It's definitely something I've noticed though. We have introduced several new dogs to the house over the years and the most set in stone routine can get disrupted.
It's always been temporary though and never a real issue so hopefully your old boy will settle again soon.

If they are both males ,I would consider letting one out in the front garden and the other in the back( assuming you have both).
The old boy may be feeling overwhelmed by the new lad and therefore cautious to leave his mark.
...until they are both at ease with the new set up,I'd let them each have their space.
