Hi, I have swapped my dog onto orijen food, he has gained weight and looks great, but has started drinking so much more than he did. He has been to the vets to rule out diabetes and uti, but its over night thats the problem, he is sometimes drinking a whole bowl of water and then waking me up because he needs to go to the toilet.

Any suggestions,

Thanks

I have checked the ingredients and it does contain seasalt. I could swap to acana as that doesnt contain salt. Or is it possible the high levels of protien are making his kidneys work harder and him need to drink and wee more?

Better still change onto proper raw dog food before his poor kidneys give up altogether.

Acana, if you want to stick to dry, then. I find no matter what dry I gave the pups, they ended up drinking the bowl dry, but now they don't drink much on the raw diet.
