This occurred to me this morning, would be interested in people's views. I've always had a problem with my leg position in that my feet stick out:o I am aware of it and goodness knows I try to correct it, but I actually find it painful to turn them to the correct position, it really hurts my knees.:o

I was recently told by a physio that the reason I have knee problems is that I have flat feet, so my knees turn in a little bit all the time. So I now have orthotics (basically corrective insoles) in my boots to push my feet and consequently my knees back into the right position. These are like normal insoles but with a bump under where most people have the arch of their foot, which pushes my weight off there and back to the outer side of my foot (hope this makes sense).

My question is, is it worth sticking a set into my riding boots too, as would this also affect how my foot sits in ths stirrup and therefore presumably also my leg position? Kind of an academic question at the moment as I don't regularly ride atm, but am hoping to start again this winter, so what do you think?

I have the same problem & have to use inserts in all my shoes.

I struggle with them in my riding boots because my ariats already have arch support so think it is just perculiar to them maybe.

If it wasn't for that I would be using in my boots definately.

Can't help directly with an answer to your question, but if you go on Facebook and contact HorseOsteopath you can post your question to Claire Short who is an experienced Osteopath. She rides so should be able to advise you if this would work or not.
