Osteo, Chiro or Physio?

I really don't know which one to get out...

My mare is raising/tossing her head up and down often when we ride. Her teeth and tack are fine so I'm thinking it might be her back. We also have some problems with our canter on one rein, I can't quite distinguish what the problem is but it does not feel correct, comfortable for me, or comfortable for the horse either. I want someone who will be able to look at all the possible areas, not being funny but I don't want to waste my money so I would like to call out the most suitable!

We are based in Wiltshire/Somerset border (Warminster) so if any one has any recommendations as well, that'd be great Thanks

I use a McTimmoney which is a chiro, she is also my YO so its really handy. I have no suggestions who though as I'm ages away from you. Have you looked in to getting her a nose net as she sounds like a possible head shaker?

No I haven't tried a nose net with her. She has sweet itch and is ALWAYS trying to scratch the inside of her ears on something, but she will not let me anywhere near her ears - and she means business, she will literally throw her head about in any direction to stop me looking inside of them. When I did have her ears seen to, I was told there was nothing wrong/inside of them. I beg to differ though, wondering whether to get a second opinion as this could cause the tossing of the head, right?

I would try a nose net and fly veil first then especially if she is the allergic type with sweet itch. You can even get fly masks that attach to your bridle if you find they work for her. The more you say the more she sounds like a head shaker.

I would try mctimmony, however, whoever you get will require vet permission and your vet may well insists on checking her before anyone else treats her.

May be you could get vet to check her over, and then if they think there is anything that needs to be worked on they can recommend and refer you to a physio. Could be anything i suppose from headshaking, pollen, dust- if the school is dusty?, or tightness in the back which i've found with my horses can be secondary to something else lower than the back itself (of course i don't mean to worry you when i say that!!)

Maybe they could check the poll as well, maybe she has banged her poll at some point and is out in the poll, i know when my boy did that earlier in the year he felt a bit odd too!

Also- i don't mean to hijack your post (Sorry!)-but please can you tell me about having horses and living in Warminster ?-as that is where i will be moving to at some point soon!- are there lots of places to keep horses?!!- thank you!
