Osteopath, Physio or Chiropractor - which one? how to decide?

I've just been recommending chiro on another thread, so I thought I'd post here too. First I strongly recommend oking with your vet to get your horses looked at. A good practitioner should ensure you've done that first.

For general wellbeing I thoroughly recommend McTimoney chiropractors. Every horse I've ever had has loved being treated and has been better after than before. However if you have a specific issue a physio might be better.

If your horse has simply knocked something "out" then a chiro will put it back, however if it's been like that for a while you don't know what the muscles are doing, whether there's a pull somewhere causing something to go wrong. whether there's a muscle compensating for something else. So me personally would get a physio

Always a fully qualified physio recommended by an equine vet .
Never use anyone who will see your horse without permission from your vet , who ever you should imform your vet after the session what they have found my physio will send a written report to the vet after every treatment and will ring her if we feel it necessary.

personally once a year i get a physio to basically check over my horses and give them any necessary treatment. in the -past my boy has had treatments more often when he was very stiff from his racing days. She is fully qualified/ registered, I have never got a vet referral.
i cannot advise on the others as i have never used them. i have know i friend you a chiropractor when her mare basically put her pelvis out.
