I thought it's been awile since I posted any pictures of the Snot Rag, so here are a few recent ones
At Christmas time
Watching birds from his faourite vantage point, the doorstep
Out for a Walk
Doing what he does best,
Being a clever growd-up dog and asking to go out (even if it is just to watch the birds!)
Pretending his mother was frightened by a Pointer
The pigs were approaching
Sorry there are so many!
He is such a lovely dog, although a complete monster! In the house he is a star, learns so quickly and will do anything for food or a toy.
Outside however is a different matter
We think he must have just been left to do what he liked outside, so he has established a comfort zone which is FAR larger than I like!
He has an extremely strong working instinct and a particular fodness for rabbit scent and watching birds! It is impossible to get his attention, although he has no desire to run off, just work too far in the distance!
But we are working him on a long line and just letting him work things out for himself, and thankfully we are making progress! The word NO! has penetrated his selective-deafness, and he is learning that when he reaches the end of the long line he has to come back to me for a fuss and a treat before we get to continue.
He has also started to look for me when he comes out of cover, which is a HUGE breakthrough!
So we WILL get there, it's just going to take a wee bit longer than I first thought!
His saving grace is his nature, he really is as soft as grease, seems to pick things up fairly quickly (once you get throught to him!) and has really settled into being a housedog. He loves meeting people (a little too much!) and has a fantastic nature with other dogs, just lets them say hello and give him a sniff without being a complete wuss.
Sorry for the overload!
Your own choice of drink and nibbles on it's way for getting so far!
