Ouch and Eeeek....

Woo! Good luck for the BE90!
I am planning a BE80 this year, should probably look at the membership stuff soon...is there a time limit to when you can join? I am looking at 80s later on in the year.

If you plan to do 80s you can buy a training pass each time so you can enter them as you go along. I should have done that last year but did not realise!

You can also do 4 (I think) BE90s on day passes.

If want full membership you can pay for a full year or a half year I think. So you could join now for a year or in July.

Ah ok, thanks. It all looks a bit confusing!

It's a nightmare! It took me forever to get my head round it last year. So I will try and explain it to you as someone did this for me last year and it was very helpful!

YOU need some form of membership to ride in a BE Event. This can be full membership (Jan-Dec in a year) Half year membership (July-Dec) or Day Passes which you buy each time. You can use Day Passes up to 4 times a year for BE90 + or an unlimited number of time for BE80. So that is likely to be your best option. But it is not first come first served in BE - you enter and after the closing date they hold a ballot to allocate places. If the event is full people with Day Passes will be further down the list for the ballot than the full members so may not be able to ride.

Then your horse ALSO needs to be registered and to have a season ticket or day pass to be ridden. If you are a full of half member you can buy a full or half season ticket. If you are using Day Passes your horse also needs a Day Pass.

Hope that helps.

How exciting! Aston le Walls is always a lovely event :)

That's good to hear. I've not done it before. Do you know how the XC compares with - say - Somerford, Stafford, Eland or Kelsall? It's my first BE90 so I am hoping it's fairly straightforward!

Aston is always more straightforwards, especially early season ones. It’s also flat as a pancake so nice one to ease them in.

Just done all my registrations too. Now to decide on where the first run will be

Ok so I can get a day pass for me and a day pass for pony and that should cover us?

I'm planning on doing Norton Disney in October as it doesn't look too scary, are there any similar less scary ones?
