I always trip up on poo in the field, it hides and jumps out at you!

The embarrasing thing was i was giving my hubby a lesson on how to put a head collar on (he is not horsy at all) I was walking away from him so he could not here me sniggering at his attempts to get it on and i tripped over the sneaky hiding poo and said the famous line (who put that there) , my hubby looked at me with a very serious look and said "if you dont know who put horse manure in your horse field who are you to tell me how to put a head collar on". : )

my friend "fell off" off her muck heap and sprained her ankle sooo badly she wasn't able to ride for a few weeks (she could barely walk on it poor girl!). I ended up riding her new horsey that she'd just acquired a day before - she'd only ridden him once when trying him out :-)

I know of someone at the local yard who was 'tidying' up the muck heap with a friend, using pitch forks to throw the poo up.
He was at the top, friend was at the bottom, he jumped down and his arm went straight onto his friends pitch fork!

Cue all lessons stopping, ambulance being called, yard being shut until a fire engine had come and cut away the end of the pitch fork so he could go in the ambulance to have an operation to get it out.

Ouch!!!

Oh yes muckheaps can definitely be dangerous places! Or in my case getting to them

At one yard I was at we had to go along a wooden ramp which could get slippy in the winter............I slipped and desperately tried to hang onto the very full wheelbarrow. Managed not to spill the contents but screwed my back up so badly couldn't get to the yard for the next 2 weeks and still have problems 4 years later

Would have been so much better to have just let the barrow go!

thank god its not just me!!! dangerous things only any good for warming up your feet in the winter should be banned......
