i fell off my horse yesterday on the road she is a shire x with big feet and for some reason she trod on her own foot and tripped going down on her knees i have a wintec saddle which is rubbish so no proper knee rolls and i flipped over her head on to my back she was fine no cuts and she didnt bugger off either just stood there looking at me i sat in the road not knowing whether to laugh or cry i was with a freind and i did get back on i really ache today but still rode again this morning as dont want to lose my nerve

Definitly Ouch!

I hope your mare is ok, I know when I fall off these days that recovery times seem to increase ( must be my age!! ). On another note, good job no cars were passing.

ouchy! glad you're both ok, had that happen once although luckily more of a case of sliding off rather than a full back flip like you but it's a horrible feeling being worried about the horse & a bit shaken yourself

well done for getting back on today!:)

Ouchie! I feel that pain, although you're somewhat lucky. My horse slipped on the road with me (sideways) ad I ended up with a broken collar bone! Blooming horses! Lol

i had a really nasty fall about 3 years ago off my old horse and never really got back on him i let my sharer ride all the time really knocked me for six but this mare i have had for 6 months she is 8 and was unbacked when i got her she is a big girl but rides like a huge welsh d she is a genuine kind though and would never hurt you on purpouse but i was more worried about her than me and yes when you get to my age 50 it does really hurt

It isnt nice coming off and especially not off on the road, atleast your lovely horse didnt mean for it to happen so with it being a pure accident you can feel secure that she is unlikely to do it again.
My charming horse threw me off the other day on a steep incline, she didnt trip or fall, she launched me off, got on again though but like you, i was very wary and ached terrible for a couple of days.

Ouch! I know how it feels, my mare bucked me off on the road, I landed on my head and then on my back. I was so lucky because my mare started to walk of heading towards a busy road, but she stood on her reins so she could not move. It was so scary and I was aching for days after.
I hope you feel better soon!:)
