Sash had her dentistry and several teeth out, plus two small warts removed on Thursday. On the plus side she is much better than last time, even though she was under for a long time as apparently back teeth are very hard to remove.
On the minus side it cost £430!! GULP!
I didn't even ask before hand as it had to be done, and of course if I had it would still have been done but I am in serious shock. I was thinking £300 worst case scenario.
Does that sound like a lot to you? They did a good job and I have no complaints. Makes you thankful for the NHS for us though, doesn't it!
 
It was a relief when they finally extracted the last of my oldest greyhounds teeth (other than her 4 canines) as she was having annual dentals at £350 per go! (she is 25kg roughly). My larger greyhound dog also had a dental this year at £350 plus.

My vets always say the cost is dependant on how many teeth they extract, but I usually have bloods first for my old girl, and insist she is put on a drip as greyhounds don't take anaesthetic well, which always bumps up the cost. So your bill seems in the region of what I would expect unfortunately.
 
Sounds about right to me. Price is depended on how much work needs doing, if a few teeth removed and some difficult extractions (back teeth have 2-3 roots so can take a little longer to extract) and also some warts removed, easily £300-£500 at most vets I have been to. If you also had bloods done could also push the price up, but good to do for older animals. Anaesthetic may cost more more larger dogs etc.

Yes makes you very glad for NHS! Many people complain about the price of vets, but we have nothing to compare it to. I am sure if we had no NHS and paid for our medical bills it would put things into perspective.

I will stop fretting then. Yes I had bloods done first, I haven't seen the bill as my OH picked her up and didn't get one. She weighs just under 20kgs.
I must say whatever anaesthetic they used is great, she is completely unaffected by it.

My OH said we complain about parking at the hospital and paying £2 yet get triple heart bypass (or whatever) for nothing.
